Eshta Bhardwaj is a PhD student at the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the role of data practices within machine learning and how to augment ML dataset development processes with data curation principles, concerns of fairness, accountability, and transparency in “data work” within predictive modelling, and how to design interventions in data practices to aid in decision-making for environmental sustainability.
